Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):

Licensed PMHNP’s have completed all course work at an accredited educational institution and have been issued a diploma.  Additionally, psychiatric nurse practitioners have completed all other licensing requirements.  They provide a broad range of psychiatric and medical services, including the assessment and treatment of psychiatric illnesses, case management, and psychotherapy.  In the State of Oregon, psychiatric nurse practitioners may prescribe and monitor medications.

Licensed (Professional) Therapist/Counselor (LCSW, LPC, LMFT):

Licensed Professional Therapists/Counselors are individuals that have completed a Masters and/or Doctoral level education and has received a diploma from an accredited educational institution.

An individual that holds the title of:

LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor,
LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker,
LMFT – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Is someone who has completed all of the requirements of their licensing board, including meeting a mandatory number of supervised hours in a clinical practice and passing a state test specific to their license.  They provide a broad range of psychiatric services including assessment, treatment, case management and psychotherapy.  They cannot prescribe medications.

Ann Heath, LCSW

Ann Heath, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has worked as a mental health provider in the Salem area for 30+ years. She is experienced in providing individual and group therapy for adults with anxiety, depression, history of trauma, and adjustment issues related to divorce/medical conditions/bereavement/aging and other life transitions. She is also experienced in providing treatment services for persons with persistent psychiatric conditions such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, OCD with the goal of optimal symptom management.

Ann uses a goal oriented and solution focused model of psychotherapy. Her primary theoretical approach is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. This is conducted in a respectful atmosphere, which is collaborative and interactive and based on helping clients understand the relationship of emotions and behavior to cognition, with the overall goal of making identified and positive changes. Ann’s counseling services are strengths based, trauma informed and culturally sensitive. She also integrates psychodynamic and social learning theory and motivational, as well as client-centered, psychoeducational counseling approaches, for individualized treatment.

Ann has a Masters in Social work from the University of Missouri, is licensed in Oregon and is active in NASW (National Association of Social Workers).

Cecilia Wong, LPC, CGAC I, NCC

Cecilia Wong, LPC, CGAC I, NCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. Cecilia completed her master’s degree in counseling at Western Seminary, and has provided services for children, adults, and couples. In the past 12 years, while providing counseling services, Cecilia has added other counseling tools to her toolbox; including EMDR (basic training) and Problem Gambling Counseling Certification. She is also pursuing nursing degrees to become a holistic provider. Cecilia believes the counseling relationship requires mutual respect and collaboration. Change can happen when the client recognizes their strengths and desires change. She works with her clients to discover those strengths to help them live a more fulfilling life. Cecilia is proficient in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese Chinese languages.

Steve Henderson, LPC

Steve Henderson, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over eight years of experience providing behavioral health services to adults and families in outpatient, inpatient and correctional settings. Steve received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and his academic background includes a strong foundation of humanistic and existential theory, as well as practical experience in a variety of counseling techniques. Steve works primarily with adults aged 18 and older and is experienced in working with depression, anxiety, severe and persistent mental illness, self-esteem, interpersonal issues, trauma recovery, identity issues, spiritual and existential concerns, life transition and personality disorders. Steve often utilizes tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. He emphasizes an open and productive therapeutic alliance, in which genuine interactions can provide opportunities for growth and insight.
